The AHSTSA OUTREACH program was designed to reach out to the community and offer technology training and assistance to young students and non-profit community organizations in order to secure the next generation of technology enthusiasts and promote awareness of TSA and the importance of technology education.

As part of the AHSTSA OUTREACH program, we have:

  •  Assisted Girls Inc. of Bristol by creating a Wordpress website and teaching associated individuals to administer it.

  • Created and maintained a website for the non-profit Mountain Empire Children’s Choral Academy and created the graphic design for t-shirts celebrating their Hungarian Choir exchange which the visiting Hungarians wore to Abingdon High School for a concert.

  • Created and maintained Boy Scout organization websites, a map of a regional Boy Scout camp to scale by satellite, graphic designs for t-shirts and patches for various Boy Scout organizations and events.

Our TSA chapter President unveils a patch design for a Boy Scout event called Conclave.

  • Partnered with Dr. Barbara Lockee, Technology Education Professor at Virginia Tech, to promote AITES (Appalachian Information Technology Extension Services) , a five state initiative to build community capacity to enhance middle and high school girls' knowledge of and interest in jobs requiring IT skills.

Dr. Lockee was a speaker and a judge for our Southwestern Regional Fair.
